What does God want anyway?

It is the wish of every parent to see their children grow up, learn to live healthy and productive lives, and then continue on in what they have learned passing on those things to their own children.

God has those same wishes for mankind, God’s greatest desire is for us to have a personal relationship with him. What better life is there, then to have a close relationship with your parents?

But with every situation in life, there are issues to be dealt with first. This goes back to the Biblical account of Adam and Eve. If you have come this far into the web

site, then I am going to guess that your willing to accept that this account in the Bible may be true.

Personally I do accept it as true, and I feel no compulsion not to believe it. But if your willing to keep an open mind at this time, even if it just for the sake of argument, I’ll be pleased with that.

I've said several times, God has a plan. And now is when we get to see the nuts and bolts of it all.

Mankind has fallen, they willingly stepped up and took what wasn’t theirs to take. Call it forbidden fruit, the apple….the fact is, God told Adam...

Ge 2:16 ¶ And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it:”

It was a plain and simple command, and the only command that he gave to them, there was no other. But to reinforce what he was telling them, he gave them a warning. Now it must be noted that when God gives a warning, he means what he says. God will carry out his promises, be it good or be it bad. Lets continue with what God warned Adam about: “for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”

Many years ago a man named Newton , discovered a law that God had created at the dawning of time. For ever action there is an equal and opposite reaction.  This can also be looked at in the light of personal responsibility.

Your parent may tell you when you’re a child “don’t touch that hot iron, or it will burn you.” And if you go ahead and touch it, you get burned! The action is, don't touch, the reaction is “ouch I got burned!” Can you take back the burn once you have gotten it? No. Does getting the burn fix the relationship with your parent for disobeying them? No, because it hurts them to see you hurt! Only when the child runs to mom, or dad, and explains what they did, can the healing begin, Mom will do what she can to make the child feel better, by using a burn cream, or giving something for the pain, or if the case is bad enough taking the child to a doctor to be checked out.

God gave the command, then gave the warning, and just like a little kid, they did it anyway. And immediately they knew they had done wrong, and tried to hide it from God. But they found out that they could not hide sin from God.

In the instant that Adam sinned, the perfect spirit he had in him, died. God told them they would die, and it did happen. Their relationship was broken with God, and only after they confessed it to him, did God take steps to make things right.

As soon as sin entered into their lives, they realized the state they were in, they were naked. To cover that nakedness, that now was a sinful distraction, God took an animal, and killed it, to make them coverings. Ge 3:21 ¶ Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

The blood of animals had to be shed for their physical embodiment of sin to be covered.

When we sin there is a payment that must be made, When someone breaks into a business or a home, and steals something, there is a punishment that must be paid when they get caught. They stand before a judge, and the judge pronounces sentence, and then they must pay, either in monetary payment, or in time, or in life. to make up for that sin. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Break the law, and pay the penalty.

God has a very cut and dried set of rules, “for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” The penalty for sin is death. Any sin, there is no graduated scale of sins to God, no white lies, no small sins, sin is sin, and it’s penalty is death.

You might say well that’s not fair, or I just don't believe that a loving God could do that. It doesn’t matter what we think, the fact is God laid down the rules, and those are the rules we must play by. God is not heartless, he makes a way out for us, and this is the simple part..

Ro 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

God says look if you desire to make things right, I’ll take you in.

2Pe 3:9 ¶ The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering (patient) to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that ALL should come to repentance.

God doesn’t want anyone to die, he wants us all to live, but he has rules that he set down that must be followed. He has a plan laid out for us to use, and it’s not difficult, the only thing difficult is, us, giving up on our preconceived ideas about God, and going along with what God has planned!

As we have life and death on this physical earth, mirrored in heaven, there is another life and death, An Eternal Spiritual life, where those that trust God’s plan live, and will live, for eternity with Jesus, and then there is the Eternal Spiritual death, which is punishment, for those that reject God’s plan, by flame, for eternity, with Satan and his angels.

This is what God has stated as his law for mankind.

             Mt 13:41 The Son of man (Jesus) shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Mt 13:49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,

50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Re 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

So, Just how can you be saved then?
