What is all this God stuff anyway?

 

             The common misconception in the world today, is that God is some mystical being sitting up in heaven with a hammer or lightning bolt in his hand ready to strike dead anyone that disobeys him. But where God can, and will be, a terrible judge of mankind, the previous misconception is not true. God is seeking out the hearts of mankind. In reality, His priority is to have a personal relationship with…….You!

             Anyone who has spent any serious time making something, will realize, that, what you have made, you want to protect. Be it a toy model, or a drawing, some kind of wood work, maybe it is a financial portfolio, or some kind of needle work, You’ve put your heart and soul into that work, and you are proud of it, and you want to protect it. God feels the same way about what he has created, The world, all that is in it, and most of all, mankind.

 

Ge 1:31 ¶ And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good...

 

             God wants to protect his investment in time and love, his creation. He took time and effort to create everything on this planet, But the one creation he set above all else was mankind. So much so that he patterned the form, and appearance of mankind after himself….

Ge 1:26 ¶ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Ge 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

 

             Fortunately for us God did not create us as androids. We weren't created to just be ordered around. God gave mankind a wonderful gift, the gift of a free will. We use our fee will every day of our lives, It is what allows us to choose if we will get out of bed in the morning, if we will accept someone as a friend, It means we can choose who we want to marry. YOU HAVE THE FREEDOM TO CHOOSE. Remember this as your reading all of these pages, YOU are the one that makes the choices, to believe what is written here, or not to.

 

             It was your free will that brought you to this page, it is your free will that is allowing you to read on, or to stop reading. But behind it all, is God’s Holy Spirit Gently prodding you to take a look at these words, asking you to look at God in a different light, from a different perspective. To try and show to you, that there are many different sides to God’s personality then is generally spoken about in the public forum of opinion. 

             Unfortunately Society today has a very off center view of who and what God is. Everyone seems to have an opinion about God, but to be factual about God, you must base your views on a source. Pic your favorite subject, maybe your interested in sports, maybe cars, maybe needlepoint. But whatever subject it might be you have spend time reading source material on that subject, a book, or had a class where your did paperwork on it. The point is, to every subject there is a source you must draw from to base your belief and opinion on.

             To truly get a sense of What God is all about you need to look at the source of information about him. You cannot rely on the opinion of a friend, or the rumors spread on the internet, the news on the radio or television or even a TV evangelist, or your Sunday School teacher or a preacher.

             You must rely on the source of it all, God wants all of mankind to know who he is and what he desires of us, so he hasn’t made it some kind of crazy mystery puzzle that you have to solve, you don’t have to write a computer program to figure out who God is. God has given you the source, His written Word, The Bible.
